Hi Richard,    HDMI is a superset of DVI, so all you need is a cable with the DVI for your computer and HDMI for the HDTV.  I have a MacBook Pro, so my playback is on the external monitor.  I'm not that familiar with your computer, but you may be able to use it as your only monitor. [...]

Reducing the top data rate on a test clip to 10 greatly improved the flow.   However, the motion still looks a little funny to my eye.   I will try going even a bit lower, but   am I giving up any quality by doing this?

We've successfully burned HD DVD's, playable on a HD-DVD player, using DVDSP. The stuttering is due to too high a data rate, and probably not due to field dominance,, as that isn't as much of an issue on HD DVD's.
